Meet The Authors

    Hello, my name is Jan and I have been a long time gardening enthusiast and have pursued my hobby since I was nine years old when my dad bought me my first pansies.  I write gardening articles for both Themestream and BellaOnline. I live in Northern Indiana which is zone 5 on 5 acres that we bought to homestead just a little over a year ago. I am the mother of 3 sons and the grandmother of 4. I have been married for over 25 years to the same wonderful man.  I home school our 12 year old son and we spent this last summer traveling the US so that he could learn about this wonderful country he lives in.  I took a job as a vehicle transporter to make this possible.

    I love to garden in containers and would to try to grow everything in containers.  My passions are herbs and perennials.

    My name is Donna Stevens, I live in Amarillo, Texas. I was born and raised in a small town in Florida. I am married to Roger Stevens. We have 3 children between us. March 20^th, 2000 marks 10 years of wedded bliss. Every year is celebrated by planting a new rose bush.

    I have always loved gardening since I can remember. As a child my first gardening experience was things we planted in Bible school on the first day and then took home to care for after the end of the Bible School period.

    I gardened with my mother, proudly planting my own package of seeds, as she taught me which were weeds and which were flowers, and what a fine line that is.

    Not long ago I met Jan Lonie on the internet, and we discovered we both had the same love for flowers and gardening and that we would like to share some of the tips and knowledge we have gathered with you.
